The D. J. Jones Group

University College Cork (UCC)

Positions

💡
The group is actively seeking to support an application for the Marie-Curie Fellowship programme. If interested in developing a proposal in asymmetric organophosphorus chemistry, feel free to contact us with a CV and summary of prior research experience.

Undergraduate Students

The group hosts summer internships and final year projects in the area of organophosphorus chemistry. Interested external students and interns are invited to contact us about potential projects as early as possible and may consider schemes such as the RSC Undergraduate Bursary.

Graduate Students

Fully funded PhD positions within our group will be posted here as they become available. Additionally, we offer support for various PhD scholarships including Irish Research Council Postgraduate Scholarships and International Scholarships. For more information on these opportunities, please reach out to David directly.

The group is also potentially interested in the supervision of 70 Credit MRes theses from the Sustainable Materials and the Environment (MRes) programme.

Postdoctoral Researchers

Applicants who are interested in applying for independent funding should contact David well in advance of their anticipated start date and indicate which fellowships they plan to apply for.

Potential sources of funding include Research Ireland and the Marie Curie fellowship programme.

Our group is currently interested in developing expertise in asymmetric photocatalysis, transition metal catalysis and biocatalysis and would be delighted to host researchers who bring these complementary skill sets.

                                                                           Equitable hiring
Hiring for funded positions will prioritise aptitude and skills, not metrics such as publication record or h-index. Applications are welcome from candidates with diverse backgrounds and career pathways.Â
